Firearms Training at Calibers
Take your sport shooting to the next level with Calibers’ NRA certified instructors. Our shooting training courses are a cost-effective way to stay safe, whether you seek a concealed carry permit in New Mexico or want to protect your home in Albuquerque.
Our shooting training will instill confidence that you are prepared to handle any life-threatening situation. You will leave our facility feeling proficient in your knowledge and handling of any fire arm.
Calibers Shooting Range Training
Calibers classes are either classroom, live range, or a combination of both. Whether you are renting a firearm, or plan to purchase one in our gun store, we have the class to train you to use it.
Introductory Handgun Courses
- Ladies Only Introduction to Handgun Series $129.99
- This is a two-day course taught by NRA-certified instructor Lindsay Fassler. Begin with handgun basics on day one, then apply what you’ve learned in a live fire range setting.
- Introduction to Handguns: The Basics $49.99
- Taught in a classroom setting, this course covers firearm safety, handgun parts, maintenance and an overview of New Mexico gun laws.
- Introduction to Handguns II: Marksmanship Fundamentals $79.99
- Learn range safety, etiquette and the six fundamentals of handgun marksmanship, and then apply your knowledge with live indoor shooting range training. Must complete Introduction to Handguns: The Basics to attend.
Concealed Carry Courses
- Concealed Carry Training $229.99
- Fingerprinting services provided
- Calibers concealed carry training is one of the most comprehensive in New Mexico. Students who complete the course and required firearms qualification will receive a certificate of completion that will allow them to complete the permit application.
- Concealed Carry 2-year refresher $34.99
- A CCW two-year refresher course as required by the New Mexico Concealed Handgun Carry Act in 2003.
- Concealed Carry Draw Course $224.99
- This class will teach you to draw and fire effectively from a belt holster concealed by a shirt, jacked, vest or pullover.
- Defensive Handgun Techniques $149.99
- Students will be introduced to the fundamentals of using a handgun in a defensive situation in this 8 to 10 hour course. A great complement to concealed carry training.
Even more shooting training
- Defensive AR-15 $224.99
- This intensive 8-hour course will teach how to use an AR-15 carbine for home and self-defense. Learn how to carry the weapon with a sling, engage single and multiple targets, engage targets at close range, move with your carbine, and more
- Introduction to the AR-15 $49.99
- Taught in a classroom setting, this course covers AR-15 safety, parts, proper handling and maintenance. It also teaches you how to select an AR-15.
- Defensive Shotgun $224.99
- This tactical shotgun training is similar to Defensive AR-15, but using a pump action or semi-automatic shotgun.
- Basic Unarmed Techniques $79.99
- Learn the fundamentals of self-defense with this course. It will cover proper body positioning and stances, basic punching and kicking skills, strikes with knees and elbows, and basic escapes from common wrestling attacks such as grabs, headlocks, and bear hugs. The class will also cover topics such as blocking, evading, redirecting, and movement
- Low Light Home and Street Defense $109.99
- This shooting training course will teach you how to effectively use a handgun with a flashlight or weapon-mounted light. Learn to draw and fire, engage multiple targets, move and search all with a flashlight or weapon-mounted light.
- Legally Surviving the Shooting Incident $99.99
- Get a solid understanding or criminal and civil laws that cover shootings, both intentional and unintentional. Learn what to do and say after the shooting, and how police conduct their investigations.

Some of our classes are restricted to 12 people. These spots fill quickly, so contact Calibers right away to sign up. Please be courteous when you need to cancel by calling Calibers as soon as possible so that other avid sport shooters can fill your spot.
